3Di is an entry-level 3D machine control system from Topcon. It uses GNSS exclusively as a positioning source. The 'i' stands for indicate and refers to the fact that the system does not provide automatic blade control.

The system can be upgraded to a GPS+ system by adding a valve module and upgrading the software. With the addition of one or several pieces of hardware, the system can then be turned into an LPS-900, or a Millimeter GPS, etc.

Topcon is a pioneer in multi-constellation GNSS systems and for years was the only company to GLONASS tracking for machine control. It currently offers hardware is states is capable of utilizing the Galileo satellite navigation system currently under construction.

Through acquisitions, Topcon's 3D machine control products incorporate technology from companies such as AGTEK and Javad Positioning Systems.

Topcon's GNSS technology is developed primarily in Russia, its optical products in Japan and its 3D machine control software in Australia.

Topcon Positioning Systems, Inc. is headquartered in Livermore, California and is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Topcon Corporation, Tokyo. Topcon Corporation is a public company traded on the Tokyo Stock Exchange under the company code 7732. Toshiba Corporation is its primary shareholder with approximately 35% of the shares.
